Brokeback mountain

Finally i have time to blog on this. At last, I mastered my courage to watch this show cos' I learnt that this show earned Li Ang the best director award and it has been acclaimed for its cinematography. I don't really see the rationale behind these after I viewed the film although admittedly it does contain picturesque moments.

I think it would make a good film for discussing issues on homosexuality/bisexuality, urbanisation and dysfunctionality of families. But due to the various intimate scenes in this show, I do not think the bulk of the student population is ready and mature enough to view it. They will just get distracted by these scenes and miss the issues.

I think the overall stance of this film is a more sympathetic one towards the homo/bisexuals as the sorrow of the wives are not focused upon and the storyline tends to garner pity towards the cowboys. On a personal note, this film is a depressing one for me as it reinforces the warpness of life around us now.
